Members of Guilford Civic Women enjoy fun and friendship while raising funds for individuals and groups in need throughout the Shoreline communities. Some of our previous events include:

Summer Fun at the Guilford Free Library

For over 25 years, Guilford Civic Women has happily funded the Guilford Free Library’s summer reading program, with the reading game and associated events running all summer. The Summer Reading Game kicked off this year with a wonderful program with Chinese Acrobat Li Lui performing amazing feats of strength and skill. The kids had a chance to try a few things out for themselves.

Summer-Time Food Drive

Thank you to everyone who made the Summer-Time Food Drive a great success. We definitely helped restock the shelves of the Guilford Food Bank for our neighbors in need. Because "Hunger Doesn't Take a Vacation."

Creating Holiday Smiles

Guilford Cadettes Troop Number 62129 were recently wonderful helpers to Santa as they read and responded to 21letters from local children. Their faces lit up as they read the letters and wrote responses. It was such a wonderful experience as many had written letters to Santa themselves over the years and they were so excited to be part of the process. The girls then shifted gears and decorated 48 bags and stuffed them with small treats for Guilford seniors to bring a little cheer during the holiday season.

Cookies for a Cause

The Guilford Civic Women sold hundreds of homemade cookies at the Guilford Community Picnic, raising money to be given away to various local charities and programs. Here GCW member Amanda Waggoner and family are ready for customers.

Guilford Fair Day Parade:

The Guilford Fair has been a Guilford tradition for over 150 years. The Guilford Fair Parade kicks of the festivities on the Saturday morning of the Fair and Guilford Civic Women are there to participate in the festivities! Another day of fun for members and their families.

Holiday Auction:

Every year, just before the holidays, members and friends of Guilford Civic Women gather at a members home to auction off some lovely items just in time for the holidays. There are always some great gifts to be found to give to loved ones or possibly just to keep for yourself.

And the best part is that all funds raised are donated to The Guilford Fuel Fund to help warm our neighbors during the impending cold winter months.

In December 2015, we were able to donate $2120 from our Holiday Auction to this important fund to help those in need with their heating costs this coming winter.

A fun evening of Bunko and laughs with friends while raising funds and winning some great prizes!

What could be better?

Where Our Funds Go...

The funds raised by the Guilford Civic Women throughout each year are donated to individuals and groups in our community in June of each year. Here are some of our favorite causes:

Following a very successful Harvest Festival at the end of September 2015, Guilford Civic Women were very happy to support the Guilford Fuel Fund with a donation of $1000 to help those in need of fuel assistance as the winter months are upon us.

It's always nice to hear that the donations have been helpful.
